Tidbit Tuesday #69

Every so often, I’m somehow able to convince Dylan to watch a Disney movie with me. Complete with singing and dancing and reptiles with magic powers. It’s a shame, isn’t? An absolute shame how few and far between animated, musical movies have been for the past ten years? Thankfully, 2009’s The Princess and the Frog was a big hit in my book. And now? Tangled! Dylan and I watched it this past weekend, and as silly as it makes two grown adults seem, it’s really such a good flick. AND much of its music was composed by Alan Menken. Newsies fans, represeeent!!

In case you’ve missed it, April’s 1 For Me // 1 For You has been up and running since Sunday. Pun totally intended. And if you didn’t catch the pun, maybe that means you should check it out. :) It’s as easy as leaving a comment on THIS post and telling us how you stay motivated. Ready, set, GO!

Last weekend, Dylan’s brother Cal was in town on business for the Final Four. We were so excited to have real family in town. But not as excited as Sully was to meet his uncle. :) And speaking of visitors, this week we welcome our dear Internet friend, Amber, to our home. She’ll be helping us with a couple of back-to-back weddings this coming weekend, and I can barely wait to meet her face to face! Look out for some awesome/blogged Alyse and Amber adventures soon!

Well, it took 10 months, but he finally did it. Dylan used my toothbrush. He used my toothbrush, and he didn’t tell me about it until I dropped him off at work. I’m thinking he saved it for the millisecond it took for him to get out of the car because he was afraid of my reaction. And boy, he was rightly afraid. There are somethings you just DON’T share. I then went to Walgreens and bought them out of their toothbrush supply. Meaning, I bought two.

In one month and two days, Dylan and I will have been together for three years. It sounds so short, but feels like soo much longer. Why, three years ago today, I was likely stalking his pictures on Facebook and admiring his facial hair. :) I have an AIM log of our very first conversation, and our second, third, four hundredth, and so on. Semi-lame? Sure. But it’s so fun reliving the beginning of our story!

Next month I have the honor of shooting the wedding of a dear friend whom I’ve known since pre-school! This also means I have a proper excuse to take a few days off to visit home. I am so excited to reconnect with long lost classmates and my momma’s cooking. :)

Song of the Week: Home is Me – You are Mine by Everly. I’ve found such solace lately in spending my days blogging, editing, and scheduling in complete silence. I somehow feel more intelligent when my ears aren’t absorbing 10 hours of TV each day. But as fabulous as silence is, I’ve found that playing Everly on repeat is just as soothing. This song in particular I am most in love with.

I leave you with this sneak peek of Thursday. I shot Sandy and Dan‘s Belle Rose Maison wedding this past Saturday, and am still gushing over their first look!

Happy Tuesday!

    Terri - Alyse..be prepared to fall totally in love with Amber, but be forewarned YOU CAN NOT KEEP HER, ok?! She is giddy with excitement to meet you and Dylan {and Sully, of course!} She’s busy readying herself to head your way- just be sure to get her back on that plane next Tuesday {and send some of your weather home with her for her to share, please. Thanks}
