Ahh… HAPPY TUESDAY, friends! I know it’s been a while. Every holiday season, I take time off from blogging for at least a couple of weeks. But this past year I gave myself an extension in order to re-evaulate my life, my business, my blog and how they all intersect. I’m so thankful for readers who allow me to fall off the grid for the sake of making what matters most happen. But here we are again, at number 153! Let’s do this, shall we?
Y’all, I’m excited! My parents are visiting at the end of the month!! They’ll be able to see the house for the first time, see Sully after 1.5 years (he’s MUCH bigger now!) and do all sorts of Houston things we weren’t cool enough to know about the last time they ventured South. :) Speaking OF! Did you hear that the NYT ranked Houston the No. 7 spot in the world to visit in 2013?! It’s also No. 1 in all of the US! I’m telling you, you WANT to come. So first, tell me what we should do when my parents are here. And second, book your own trip! ;)
This new year has got me all sorts of proud. There are many things I’ve set out to do and have thus far felt like a big fat failure. But I’m learning on a day-by-day basis that grace covers me! HALLELUJAH! Perfection belongs to Jesus alone! Still, there are little victories I’ve celebrated along the way… I made three meals for Dylan this past weekend (I want to cook for him more). I’ve spent more quality time with Sully (I’m a horrible dog momma at times). I’ve been unusually good at eating breakfast, lunch, AND dinner (at regular times, too!). And I feel a sort of motivation for life that I can’t quite put into words… Oh wait, I can. God is good. Life is beautiful.
Song of the Week: The Gift by Glen Hansard. This is my new favorite song. (I know I say that a LOT.) I could explain why. OR I could have you listen to it and understand immediately.
