Tidbit Tuesday #64

Thursday of last week, I was balancing/bouncing an upside-down Sully on my shins while sitting at my desk. (I’m such a good parent! But wait, it gets better…) Right when Sully was about to fall over backwards, the wall-mounted shelf behind me (the one holding up about twice more than recommended) came crashing down on top of my desk and all over everything. I’m still picking up pennies from our change jar. But Sully was my main concern. Imagine if YOUR mom had you hanging upside down when you heard the loudest crash-bam-boom of your life… He wouldn’t come out of his crate for two whole hours. :(

On a happier note, Sully has begun to smile! No really, when he plays, he has this huuuge smile on his face that makes me want to swallow him whole. One of these days, I’ll catch it with my camera! Then blog it as a part of that crazy long ‘Sully Through Pictures’ update coming up soon. ;)

Last night I apparently jumped out of bed, ran to turn on the light, and proclaimed, “There’s a SPIDER in our bed!” Dylan actually thought I might be onto something until he asked me what it looked like. “It was white, but it was clear.” In reality, at 3AM it was pitch black, and our sheets are white… Obviously a dream. But I still slept at the foot of the bed for most of the night. Until Dylan kicked me.

Am I the only one that almost hits the self-cleaning button on the oven nearly ev.er.y time I go to turn on the oven light? Freaks me out every time. Yesterday I was almost positive I’d hit the wrong thing, but gosh, the food just looked so good. So I ate it. And I’m still here to tell the story! ;)

I haven’t done a photographer spotlight in muuuch too long. But Landon Jacob and his wife Jordan take the cake! Based out of Colombia, South Carolina, these two constantly inspire me with their love for Jesus and incredible images. So crisp, clear, and full of heart. If you don’t check them out, you are cheating yourself out of some awesome new blog stalking. And believe me, I’m an expert of sorts. ;)

Song of the Week: Terrified by Katharine McPhee, featuring Zachary Levi. I am slightly embarrassed by this one, but I’ll completely own up to the fact that I’ve played it 56 times since first discovering it yesterday. (As in, the day before today…) It’s not my usual taste in music by any means, but good grief, it’s ZACHARY LEVI. (AKA, Chuck Bartowski.) And he can TOTALLY sing.

So, I have this super-secret talent no one seems to know about. Except Dylan. He definitely knows about it. Though he wouldn’t necessarily call it talent. You see, I have this ultra-fab alter-ego who knows how to beat-box. Or, make the same tongue-clicky sound for every beat… But still! I don’t think it’s too shabby.. My question for you is: What is one of your super-secret talents? The person with the best answer gets a free WonderFile. You know, since I also have an insane talent for collecting duplicates of As Seen On TV products. Ready, set, do it up!

And here’s a taste of what I’ve been working on lately. More specifically, a shot from Michelle and J’Max’s recent engagement shoot. :)

Happy Tuesday!

Michelle - ALYSE! You’re wonderful! I’m thanking God today for so many things. I never in a million years thought this would be my life. I never thought I’d find J, I never expected this beautiful ring I wear every day, and I never thought we’d be so lucky as to have found someone who could capture our memories SO WELL. Just seeing this one picture brought me to tears because I’m just so incredibly happy! THANK YOU! We’re so excited to see the rest!!

Stacy K - Hi Alyse, I have a confession to make. I’ve followed your blog religiously for so long now that you appeared in my dream the other night. Except it turned into a nightmare! For some reason I was visiting you, and in the middle of the night we were robbed at gun point. The man didn’t get away with it, but I remember waking up so scared! I think it was because I might have just watched the Amanda Knox Lifetime movie and, ever since, I haven’t felt safe in my own house haha… Ok, i’m officially a creeper for admitting to that!

Megan Lange - Oh my goodness. I really like that song :)

Pam - Nope you aren’t the only one who hits the self-cleaning button but all it does is heat your oven to some crazy high heat and turns all the burnt/caked on stuff to ash. So there aren’t any chemicals or anything like that used. :)

Super talent? Well my hubs always jokes that if I was a super hero that I’d have super typing skills since I already type fast. This comes up every time I’m blogging/typing & having a conversation with him (while looking at him)..

Can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures from this session!
