Tidbit Tuesday #66

As I tweeted yesterday, I think I may be experiencing baby nursery fever. It’s very different from baby fever, I think… I’m definitely not ready for that. But what I am ready for is having another room to transform into something cute! Case in point, I stayed up past midnight saving pictures of nurseries to my desktop. For real, people. I know I’m crazy. But when that day comes, I will be prepared with VOC-free paint and a Polaroid baby mobile!

This past weekend, I sat down to Glee for the first time. Thanks to Netflix and the ever-convenient “play all” button, one episode quickly turned into about 15. It definitely took a few awkward ‘Finn and the mailman’ scenes to get into it, but I slowly felt the quality of my life increasing. Because, really, we all wish our daily lives were full of impromptu song and dance performances. And I’m vowing to make this my new reality.

Dylan thinks he’s cool. Almost once a week, I hear, “BAM! I now have 81, no 93, no 1,439 connections on LinkedIn. How many do YOU have?” Sure, I only have 30. But that’s when I remind him of how many Facebook friends I have. And then, BAM! I win. :)

So, if you haven’t experienced Pinterest yet, you really, really should. It is essentially a site that allows you to create and share all sorts of inspiration boards. Brides, this is an amaaazing tool for all things wedding-inspired! But it could also be used for baby nursery ideas. ;) Or to break down inspiration for styled shoots, something which Dylan and I have been working on for the near future. Definitely check it out *HERE*.

I’ve begun compiling a mental checklist of differences between NY and TX. We’ve been here for nearly nine months, and the differences just keep presenting themselves. Newest on the list? The McDonalds‘ milkshakes here are served with whipped cream and cherries on top! Whaaa?! Oh, it is good to be a Texan. Except for the fact that I have yet to locate a shamrock shake. What’s up with that, South?

It might not be classy, but I would be completely remiss not to mention the funniest thing I’ve seen while living in Houston. *THIS* is right down our street.

Photog spotlight: A couple of weeks ago, I had the complete honor of being featured on the Photo Junkies blog. You can see that post *HERE.* But today, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank the Junkies for the always encouraging, ever-supportive, and ultimately kindhearted people they are. If you want to be endlessly entertained and educated on all things photo-industry-related, be sure to check them out. They’re also running a cuh-raaazy contest right now for a chance to win a $150 Adorama gift-card. In other words, do it! (And now I’m off to rehab for my hyphen-happy tendencies.)

Song of the Week: Like a Child by Jars of Clay. We’re going old school this week. You know when you’re driving in your car, and you turn on your Sirius radio, and it gets ev.er.y song exactly right. I recently rediscovered this song in that exact way. And it was so beautiful to be reminded.

Until next time, I’ll leave you with this sneak from Megan and Chance‘s Ashton Gardens wedding. This blog post is all ready to go! I’m toying with the idea of posting it tomorrow instead of Thursday simply because I looove this wedding, and I have another engagement session all ready for posting shortly after. Tell me your vote in the comment section… Tomorrow? Or Thursday? ;)

Happy Tuesday, all!

Jess Z. - I must say… TOMORROW! Your bride looks too classy for me to wait! And no Shamrock Shakes?! That is a SERIOUS crime… minus the fact that Texas turns their McDonald’s milkshakes into a full-on dessert! That alllllmost makes up for the lack of Shamrock Shakes. Almost. AND WHAT?! Can Glee be played instantly on Netflix?!
