Tidbit Tuesday #93

For the past almost-year, we’ve had a plastic gate separating our living room from the rest of the apartment. You know… So Sully won’t pee all over the rug and couches and get his hair everywhere, which he somehow still manages to do. :) The gate also exists to add some everyday spice into our lives, because I trip over that thing like it’s my job. Just ask the bruises all over my legs! This week’s trip in particular was something straight out of the movies. Imagine a face-plant with my feet still tangled on top of the gate a good five feet behind me. Looking back on it, I’m sure it was the most graceful fall ever. ;)

Yesterday I had one of my recurring realizations that Houston is our home now. And the longer we live here, the more I think we’ll never leave. Will my children be native Texans? That’s a very strange thought. But it’s definitely starting to look that way. The summer’s are hot, but the winters are perfect. And we miss our families, but our church family is now so much a part of who we are. So unless something crazy changes, I’d say we’re here for a good long while. And hopefully we’ll have a much longer chance to work on our southern drawls.

This one’s for the blog crowd that might not already follow us on Facebook or Twitter! Quick and shameless plug… :) Dylan and I are looking for young and in love couple to model for us in an upcoming music-styled shoot. This is something that’s been in the works for a while, and we’d love for you to send a picture of you and your sweetie to alyse@alysefrenchphotography.com if you’re interested! You must either live in Houston or be willing to travel here, and having your own instruments is a big plus. If you want more of an idea of where this shoot’s headed, check our our inspiration board on Pinterest!

Song of the Week: Call it What You Want by Foster The People. Up until recently, Dylan and I paid for Sirius radio in the car. But after our go-to stations started playing the same songs nearly every hour, we decided to go old school and buy about 17 different CD’s so we could have more control over our listening. This past weekend we finally picked up Foster The People’s latest album, after already having listened to it via Spotify, YouTube, and what have you. But the beauty is that I can now dance IN THE CAR for the world to see as opposed to dancing in my living room all alone. And my number one FTP jam? Call it What You Waaaant. Eh, eh, ehhh!! :) Buy the MP3 HERE, and/or watch the video HERE. And then dance!!

On Saturday, we (AKA, our awesome assistant Kaley, Dylan, and myself) shot and celebrated the wedding of Chrissy and Billy! It was such a complete blast, and we are so thrilled to have been a part of it. So here’s a picture of the happy new Mr. and Mrs. to hold you over until later in the week when we go all out. They celebrate ELEVEN years of being together this week! So you can probably imagine how happy they were when this image was taken and they were maaarried. :)

Happy Tuesday!!

Abby Grace - Word. I totally feel the “being completely done with radio” thing. I’ve started throwing it back to 8th grade with my BSB “Black and Blue” cd these days. And Daphne Loves Derby. Heaven!

Aimee - I just recently discovered Foster The People and my dog can attest to lots of dancing and singing around the apartment to them. :) I can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures. It was such a fun night and thank you so much for being so wonderful! Hope you have a lovely Tuesday.
