Tidbit Tuesday #138

This past Saturday really solidified a dream of mine. To be a wedding singer… AT LEAST once. (Funny how just about any other profession I can see myself in happens to be within the wedding industry.) I want to wear a cute dress, massive heels, and sing my heart out pretending to be Fergie. I will be singing at my sister’s wedding ceremony this coming month. But I’d say Gungor isn’t quite the Black Eyed Peas… ;)

Consider this tidbit a foreshadowing of a full post to come later this week. I will be holding Houston mini-sessions on both September 8th and 15th at Hermann Park. These are both Saturdays, and there’ll be six slots available on each day. More details are yet to be worked out, but if you have even a slight interest, be sure to keep an eye on the blog later this week. Slots will be snagged on a first-come/first-serve/first-pay basis. YAY!!

You know when you’re having a hard time getting your day moving along? That was my yesterday. Though I still managed to accomplish most everything on my list (at any one point I can tell you what my tasks are for the next seven days – obsessive, I know) – I also managed to procrastinate enough to make homemade ice cream in a bag. Yes, just like Kindergarten morning program. Milk and vanilla and sugar in a bag. Inside another bag of ice and salt. Shake, shake, shake. And you’ve got yourself some fake, decent-tasting ice cream.

Song of the Week: I Will Follow You into the Dark by Death Cab for Cutie. One of the many perks of marrying Dylan (apart from how good he looks in skinny jeans) has been the influence of his musical preferences. Ben Gibbard of Death Cab has GOT to be one of the most incredible singer/songwriters alive or dead. I know that’s saying a lot. But I LOVE THIS MAN. On Sunday, Dylan and I caught a Death Cab concert on TV, and it was all I could do not to make a scene. In my living room. Because when I see someone living up to their potential, it lights a fire inside me. P.S. This song was written in FIVE minutes after a song-writing dry spell. Magic, I tell you.

Last weekend’s downpours and flash floods couldn’t put the slightest damper on the party planned by the new Mr. and Mrs. Caldera. Here’s a little sneak peek until next week’s blog post! Loving these colors. :)

Happy Tuesday!!
